Spirit Lodge is the realized dream of George Joseph and his wife Tricia. With 27 years of experience in this field, at Parkside and the last 16 years at The Right Step, and recognized as "National Counselor of the Year" by The National Association of Addiction Professionals, George's insight and leadership has been critical in creating Spirit Lodge. George began his career in the chemical dependency field in 1983 when he used his own struggles as a youth and his education thereafter as a springboard to help others find solutions to their alcohol or drug problems.

Since assuming leadership of The Right Step (www.rightstep.com) in 1994, George has grown the organization from a single treatment center facility to multiple locations and programs in Texas and Louisiana. The Right Step was built from a single-site program into the largest chemical dependency treatment organization in the Southwest while maintaining a high level of quality and affordable service for adolescents, adults, and their families.

At Spirit Lodge, we serve 24 Guests, both men and women over 25 years of age. The minimum stay is 35 days. The core element in addiction recovery is the 12-Step model. The Spirit Lodge Model expands this core to integrate the physical, mental, emotional, family, and spiritual health needs and related treatment plans for each individual.

Our team of MDs (addiction and psychiatric specializations), PhDs, Therapists, LCDCs, Nutritionists, Educators, and staff work collaboratively and individually with each guest.

We offer on-site spa services, personal trainers, a gourmet chef, nutritional counseling, hiking and biking, meditation, yoga and other recreational and educational enrichment opportunities.

As part of our personalized treatment, we establish a professional plan for each guest. Some employers of our guests and parents of our younger adults will want them to take the time away, completely. Other executives, the self employed, and artists may not be able to "check out" of duties for the duration of their program. We will, within reason, work with them and meet their individual needs.

At Spirit Lodge, a very unique, holistic program of addiction treatment is provided to our guests who are striving to end a dependence on alcohol or a dependence on drugs. Our program has been carefully developed with tried and tested methods for ensuring the most comprehensive addiction recovery program is provided for achieving successful sobriety and healthy life change.

B.) All Spirit Lodge guests are required to be a minimum of 25 years of age and older. We believe this is important to create a more mature and meaningful experience while receiving addiction treatment.

Experience has taught us that this both adds to the comfort level of our guests and that people with the disease of addiction who are younger than the minimum required age are often less serious about the treatment process.

C.) The addiction recovery coaching delivered at Spirit Lodge is beyond any other program for overcoming drug and alcohol dependence. This is due to the fact that when admitted to the Spirit Lodge, a primary therapist is chosen for you in particular.

This person will be your personal recovery coach not only when you are at Spirit Lodge, but for a full year. Your addiction recovery coach will be responsible for working closely with you and your loved ones to coordinate the appropriate recovery plan to meet your unique needs.

This supportive and experienced professional will also help you execute the addiction recovery plan that has been developed. The Spirit Lodge goal is to give you as much support as possible to help you achieve a lifetime of sobriety.

D.) Each individual guest at our addiction rehabilitation facility is expected to stay at our relaxing addiction treatment center for a minimum of 35 days. This aids in creating lasting bonds with your peers as well as in creating a safer, more congruent group addiction therapy process.

E.) During your unique addiction treatment program experience at Spirit Lodge, we commit to you if you commit to us! As an additional benefit to our self, paying guests, we also commit to your addiction recovery process for 1 year from the initial date of your admission.

We are so committed to your recovery from a drug addiction and from alcoholism, that we even have a contingency plan to allow you a free restabilization period if an addiction relapse should occur.

This free addiction treatment is provided for seven to ten days. It is exclusive of detox service fees, but is provided to demonstrate how serious we are about helping you to move forward along the path of positive change in your life through the implementation of a successful addiction recovery program uniquely suited to help you best achieve long-term sobriety.
