DR. SCOTT BECKER
It has been over 25 years since Dr. Scott Becker began his medical career. Today, Dr. Becker is highly sought after for his expertise in treating diseases and illness patterns which medical professionals have wrestled with for generations and failed.
Dr. Becker has revolutionized the field of hormone replacement therapy. He is one of a few physicians in the world to have successfully developed a hormone therapy program for children suffering from rare hormone deficiency diseases. Dr. Becker is in an elite group of physicians to have studied this condition in children and is among an even smaller group of physicians to have actually worked with children.
After developing ground breaking hormone therapy programs for children, Dr. Becker expanded his expertise to hormone replacement therapy for adults. The field is known as Longevity Medicine, or Age Management which now includes Adult and Pediatric Adrenal and Chronic Fatigue, Alternative Treatments for Attention Deficit, Gluten Sensitivity and related symptoms, Food Sensitivities, Athlete Optimization, Thyroid Disorders, Adult and Pediatric Obesity and Weight Management, Peri-Menopause, and Menopause Management.
Dr. Becker has been privileged to be a part of a hand selected group of physicians studying and teaching adult hormone deficiency syndromes. Dr. Becker is one of only 50 physicians worldwide admitted to the faculty staff at the Anti Aging Regenerative and Functional Medicine Fellowship and he is one of less than twenty physicians globally to reach the anti aging masters level of accreditation. He is now making substantial gains with his colleagues in identifying and treating aging of the brain.
For the past 15 years he has also taught medical students of all levels at Nova Medical School as well as nursing, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner students of several colleges of South Florida.
Since beginning to study hormone deficiencies and the aging process more than two decades ago, Dr. Becker has been able to assemble certain protocols, which, when applied on an individualized basis, can dramatically alter a person's life.

DR. DAVID BLYWEISS
David J. Blyweiss, MD began his medical career as a clinical pharmacist in South Florida prior to earning his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in 1982. This dual background allowed him to appreciate the relevance of conventional pharmaceutical/surgical based treatments in acute medical conditions, but also to recognize where these approaches fell short in treating the majority of patients who suffered from the chronic degenerative diseases of "western civilization origin".
Over the last twenty years, with the nutritional medical knowledge base expanding in the fields of nutrigenomics, proteomics and other related "orthomolecular" disciplines directed towards patients' biochemical individuality, Dr. Blyweiss became an early adherent and experienced practitioner of what would become known as "functional medicine". Dr. Blyweiss has used this matrix of systems biology to effectively manage and alleviate the symptoms related to the most "difficult-to-treat" conditions by addressing the underlying causes, allowing the body to heal itself. With over a decade of experience using bio-identical hormones, Dr.Blyweiss was one of the early adapters recognizing that balancing hormones to optimal levels was instrumental in bringing his patients back to a state of health they could only wish for previously.
In association with Humana Medical Plans, as an affiliated provider, Dr. Blyweiss also served as member of, and subsequent chairman of, the Quality Assurance Committee and Physician Credentialing Committee from 1985 – 1990.
He is adjunct faculty at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Center for integrative medicine helping to train both future and practicing physicians in " functional medicine" . He is both a local authority and national speaker on functional medicine.
Dr. Blyweiss was one of the researchers doing the early work on chlorhexidine (phisohex) while earning his first post graduate degree at Temple University School of Pharmacy. During medical school he worked with the WHO (World Health Organization) in vaccinating children in the island nation of Grenada. He was a team member of the physician relief program in Kendall, Florida after Hurricane Andrew in 1994.
He has traveled the world, most recently to Gabon and Croatia working closely with teams of specialists to identify new plant life and natural products for possible human benefit. He has consulted for and created state-of-the -art nutritional supplements for multiple nutritional companies since 1999. His most recent accomplishment was forming Eden Laboratories Ltd. doing stem cell research in Belize, CA. He is currently in private practice in South Florida where he resides with his family.
Services We Offer:
HGH THERAPY AND YOUR HEALTH
Any male over the age of 30 is already experiencing a decline in human growth hormone (HGH) levels. By 40 years old most males are experiencing a substantial decrease in growth hormones and by the age of 60 many will probably have lost 75% of the HGH that their body produced and still needs.
Human growth hormone is naturally produced by our pituitary gland and plays an essential role in the development of our bones and organs as young males come into puberty. As we age, we still need human growth hormone for many other vital functions, but our bodies are unable to produce the same levels of growth hormone at age 60 as it did at age 20. This lack of sufficient HGH in our bodies is what leads to a myriad of age-related conditions and even diseases.
LOW TESTOSTERONE AND YOUR HEALTH
Is it low testosterone that's causing your weight gain, lack of sex drive, irritability, or erectile dysfunction? It could be. Even more significant then that, however, is the fact that low testosterone levels have been linked to serious health risks and even an increase in death.1
Testosterone in men is responsible for healthy bone density, strength, sex drive, fat distribution, sperm production and red blood cell production. By your mid-twenties though, testosterone levels decline by 1-2% each year.
Many men are reluctant to talk about testosterone therapy and what it could mean for them. There is a stigma associated with low testosterone levels that just isn't true. Every male will experience low testosterone levels at some point in their life; it doesn't make them any less of a man. In fact, the US Food and Drug Administration estimates that 4 to 5 million American men may suffer from low testosterone. The difference between you and them is what you choose to do about it.
You might be researching low testosterone online because you've heard about testosterone therapy or testosterone replacement on TV, in a magazine or through a friend. You're wondering if low testosterone is to blame for the way you look and feel today.
ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION – THE GOOD NEWS
Did we surprise you? Yes, we said 'Erectile Dysfunction – The Good News.' Sound strange? Well it shouldn't. You've come to the right place. You're researching erectile dysfunction because you want to know if there are treatments out there that can help. Good news, there are.
So you are suffering from erectile dysfunction, now what? The good news is that your condition may be completely treatable and reversible. More good news; you are not alone. About 30 million men in the United States have ED. It can happen at any age, but is more common in men older than 65.
Ready for some more good news? ED is treatable at any age.
ANDROPAUSE GOT YOU DOWN?
Every man gets to a point as he ages where he feels as if time is catching up to him. Maybe you've been there. You used to practically sprint up those three flights of steps at work, right? There was a time when you exercised almost every day and felt revitalized by it. You could golf in the morning, wash both cars in the afternoon, and still have the energy to take the wife out to dinner. And then, after dinner…. well, that used to be the best part. But lately, you get the feeling you're slowing down, the years are adding up, and life has taken its toll. Don't fret; this lack of energy isn't necessarily the inevitable, irreversible decline of aging. It's likely something much simpler, and, thanks to American Longevity Center, easily treatable through hormone replacement therapy.
It's called andropause and is often referred to under the humorous nickname, "man-o-pause," a reference to the equivalent condition in females, menopause. But for men who feel like the flair has gone out of their lives, it's no joke. Andropause is caused by the reduction in the body's production of testosterone and other hormones. It's a normal part of aging – scientists say that by a time a man has reached his mid-twenties, his testosterone production will drop an average of 1-2% per year. For some men, it happens at a much quicker rate.
Andropause, so-named because testosterone is an androgen, often leaves its sufferers tired and out of energy. They may lose interest in things they used to enjoy, find themselves unexplainably anxious, angry, or depressed, and notice a diminished sex drive. Fortunately, with treatments like testosterone replacement therapy available at American Longevity Center, it's not something that anyone has to live with.
HOW ADRENAL FATIGUE AND HORMONAL IMBALANCE GO HAND IN HAND
You probably know more about adrenal fatigue then you realize. You've seen the commercials about cortisol, stress and belly fat. You may have even considered ordering one of those 'cortisol' regulating pills because you're experiencing stress, fatigue and weight gain around your mid-section.
It can be confusing to understand what's going on with your body when hormonal imbalances disrupt your life. One thing you can be sure of is that a mass-marketed infomercial pill is not the answer to your problem. Hormonal imbalances and adrenal fatigue are medical conditions and need to be treated and monitored by an experienced physician.
What is Adrenal Fatigue?
Adrenal fatigue is a condition that results when your adrenal glands, two small organs that sit on top of your kidneys, function below the necessary level. As its name suggests, the most prevalent symptom of this condition is a chronic fatigue that is not relieved by rest. Those who suffer from adrenal fatigue also feel run down and not able to make it through the day.
Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome comes from a failure of the adrenal glands to efficiently produce hormones. This failure is usually caused by extreme or prolonged periods of stress.
The adrenal glands are responsible for secreting cortisol, a hormone fundamental to optimal health. Cortisol is necessary for normal brain, immune, muscle and blood sugar function as well as proper blood circulation. In the beginning stages of adrenal fatigue, cortisol levels are elevated. As the stress continues and the adrenal glands further deteriorate, cortisol levels begin to decline. Having too little or too much cortisol in the body, or any hormone for that matter, contributes to serious health problems. Balance is crucial for optimal health.
Although this is a relatively common condition, adrenal fatigue can often be misdiagnosed as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia or depression. Many patients turn to American Longevity Center for a second opinion or second diagnosis. Often times misdiagnosed patients don't get relief from their symptoms because they aren't being treated properly. They are tired of taking prescription pills and not seeing or feeling any results.
FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE – THE FUTURE OF MEDICINE, AVAILABLE NOW
When's the last time you went to a doctor's office? If you're like most people, it was probably the last time you were injured or sick. Medicine has historically been about treatment of existing symptoms or illnesses, with most people avoiding the doctor like a disease. Modern technological and scientific advances have made this mode of thinking outdated, and now it's time to change your outlook on healthcare too. At American Longevity Center, a whole host of proactive, functional medicine options are available that will help fine tune your lifestyle, upgrade your quality of life, and keep you healthier longer.
Benjamin Franklin once said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If he could visit American Longevity Center, he'd see just how right he was. American Longevity Center is one of the nation's leading providers of functional medicine. Functional medicine is a philosophy of healthcare that puts the focus on your current everyday health rather than waiting until something's wrong. It makes sensible use of the latest in medical technology to keep you healthy now and in the future.
Think about this; if you're suffering from migraines, why wait for your next headache to arrive and then numb the pain with powerful prescription medicine? Why not look further into your health, learn what the triggers are for your migraine headaches, and then treat your body accordingly to prevent migraines from occurring in the first place? That's what functional medicine is all about, preventing, not only treating. We don't just mask the pain, we research your health to see what measures can be taken, be it lifestyle, diet or medicine, to prevent the migraines from occurring in the first place.
Functional medicine treats the root of the problem, not just the symptom.
Another example would be treating a patient that suffers from chronic acid reflux. While you may be prescribed Prevacid or other prescription pills for the symptoms of acid reflux, you still haven't treated the root problem, why you are experiencing acid reflux. At ALC we will run a series of comprehensive tests and analysis that may show a presence of a certain type of bacteria that is causing your acid reflux. Treating and eliminating the presence of that bacteria may be all you need to eliminate your acid reflux once and for all!
WHAT's REALLY CAUSING YOUR MIGRAINES?
Chances are, you don't know what's really causing your migraines. If you're like many people who have turned to American Longevity Center for help, you went to your doctor complaining of frequent migraines. Your doctor may have performed a few tests and decided to prescribe you a pill to help you cope with the pain and symptoms.
So this is where American Longevity Center comes into your life. You've seen a doctor; you've been prescribed a pill. You probably have even experienced relief from the debilitating pain with this pill. Great! So why are you here?
Our guess is that you have done some research on your own, and you've discovered that treating migraines doesn't just involve masking the pain, but treating the root causes so that you don't get them in the first place.
If you're ready to understand and treat the cause of your migraine and not just the pain, then you've come to the right place.
A Migraine of A Misunderstanding
According to the National Headache Foundation, about 28 million Americans are affected by migraine headaches (National Headache Foundation 2004). What is truly astounding about these numbers is that there is still much confusion about what causes these debilitating headaches and why they are so severe.
There have been numerous attempts to pinpoint the cause of migraines. Doctors have suggested that certain triggers including stress, hormonal changes, environmental factors, genetics and more may be to blame.
What we do know is that that migraines can be triggered by:
- Hormonal changes in women
- Foods containing monosodium glutamate or nitrates
- Change of weather or barometric pressure
- Lack of sleep
- Alcohol or caffeine
- Head trauma
- Excessive exercise
- And more
Treating Your Migraine, Not Theirs
You are unique. Your body, physiology and lifestyle are all unique to you. As such, the causes and triggers of your migraine headaches are unique to you and only you. There is no one size fits all solution for migraine headaches. If you want to treat the root of your problem and not just the symptom, you need a course of treatment that is as unique as you are.
Have you been told that there is no cure for migraines? Have other physicians told you that they can't find the cause of your migraines? At ALC our physicians have been successfully helping migraine sufferers for decades. We believe that the cure for a migraine is uncovering, treating and preventing its root cause.
ALC physicians have hundreds of ex-migraine sufferers that can tell you that there certainly is a cure for migraines, and it doesn't involve a magic pill.
At American Longevity Center, we focus on the root causes of your migraine headaches and address each one accordingly and with the utmost attention to detail. Your migraine headaches may be caused in part by different areas of your health that are compromised including hormone levels, toxins and metals in your blood, improper diet, lack of proper physical fitness and more. Your migraine may be a symptom, a sign, of these imbalances.
At ALC, each patient's unique physiology and lifestyle are analyzed and problem areas, or imbalances, are identified. Our doctors may analyze urine, blood, stool, breath, hair or saliva specimens to evaluate the presence or imbalance of heavy metal toxins, hormones, minerals, vitamins, fats, proteins or organic acid chemicals. Everything from the quality of the air and water consumed to stress levels to diet and exercise to genetic make-up are taken into account, and expert doctors like those at American Longevity Center use this information to get to the root of the problem.
Based on the results of these tests, our doctors will be able to design a lifestyle and treatment plan that puts you at your optimal health level. These customized healthcare plans utilize the latest in medicinal breakthroughs, special nutritional and exercise programs, and the best of Eastern, Western, and alternative healthcare.
Your treatment plan may include elements of hormone therapy, functional medicine, nutrition, detoxification cleansing, physical fitness and nutrition. The goal of your customized program will be to treat the root causes of your migraine headaches so that you no longer have to rely on a pill for relief, you'll be able to rely on the fact that you just won't have to suffer from migraines anymore.
It's time to shift the focus of medicine from reactive to proactive. We need to not only treat conditions like migraine headaches, but practice medicine that can prevent them as well.
The physicians at American Longevity Center are nationally recognized experts in the field of functional medicine and hormone replacement therapy. If you have made up your mind that you want to get healthier and live with more vitality, call us at (800) 777-8332 to find out what preventative medicine can do for you.
